ADHD Signposting

ADHD Foundationorganisation working to improve attitudes to ADHD and other neurodiverse conditions, allowing these people to make use of their skills in a work setting and become more independent (0151 237 2661).

National ADHD Information and Support Service – service for information and resources to help people living with ADHD, those caring for them and those treating them in a healthcare capacity (020 8952 2800).

Alcohol and drug addiction Signposting

We are with you – charity providing free and confidential advice and support via online chat to people with drug and alcohol misuse issues, and raising awareness of the impact of these issues on mental health.

Action on Addiction – charity providing advice, treatment and family support to those affected by all types of addiction, as well as conducting research into treatment and improving the provision of services in the UK (0300 330 0659).

Alcohol Change UK – charity working to create a society free from the negative effects of alcohol and problems such as poverty and homelessness which can result from alcohol dependency. They do this by campaigning for better information, better policy and regulations, new social norms and better support. They signpost the national helpline Drinkline (0300 123 1110).

Anxiety Signposting

Anxiety UKcharity giving advice to people living with stress, anxiety, phobias and depression on the basis of clinical expertise (03444 775 774).

Arthritis Signposting

National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society a patient-led organisation working to improve the lives of people with Rheumatoid Arthritis by providing information about the condition, support and empowering people to make their voices heard on the subject (0800 298 7650).

Arthritis Action – charity helping people with arthritis manage their condition through lifestyle changes and self-management of the pain caused by the condition, as well as the mental impact. There is a focus on increased physical activity and better diet (020 3781 7120).

Versus Arthritis – charity campaigning for better policies to protect people with arthritis and to provide them with better healthcare, as well as campaigning to counter common misconceptions about the condition (0300 790 0400). 

Asthma Signposting

Autism Spectrum Disorder Signposting

Body Dysmorphic Disorder Foundation – charity providing resources, support and advice for people with body dysmorphia, including dedicated resources to help people during lockdown and online support groups.

Beat Eating Disorders – charity supporting people with all types of eating disorder and related conditions (such as body dysmorphia) by providing information, forums for talking to specially trained volunteers about living with an eating disorder and advice about seeking treatment (0808 801 0677).

Cancer Signposting 

Cancer Research UK – charity funding specialist healthcare professionals to offer the best cancer treatment and support, as well as helping develop public policy on treatment and prevention and carrying out world-class cancer research (0808 800 4040).

Macmillan Cancer Support – charity providing physical, financial and emotional support to people from their diagnosis all the way through cancer treatment, as well as the latest information and research to help people and their families throughout their cancer journey (0808 808 00 00).

Working with Cancer organisation supporting cancer survivors and employers achieve the goal of keeping those recovering and recovered from cancer in work and therefore, financially independent with special consultancy advice and training services (07910 835585).

Carpal tunnel syndrome Signposting  

RSI Actionorganisation working to prevent repetitive strain injuries, including carpal tunnel syndrome, in the UK and to improve the treatment of those with the conditions, including in a work environment.

Versus Arthritis – charity campaigning for better policies to protect people with arthritis and related nerve and joint conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome, and to provide them with better healthcare, as well as campaigning to counter common misconceptions about the condition (0300 790 0400). 

Cerebral Palsy Signposting

UK Cerebral Palsy Organisation – an online-only resource advising all affected by cerebral palsy in the UK. Information on legal aid, respite care, diagnoses and certain surgeries which may help reduce symptoms.

Action Cerebral Palsy  charity working at a national level to improve public, professional and political awareness of all types of cerebral palsy. Also lobbies policy makers to legislate in the best interests of people with cerebral palsy. Provides information for parents of children with CP (07721 372499).

SCOPE charity working towards disability equality through provision of information and emotional support for those affected. Not a cerebral palsy-specific, however much of the work focuses on informing of cerebral palsy in different stages of life, eating difficulties, treatments and compensation available for medical negligence (0808 800 3333).

Cystic fibrosis Signposting

Cystic Fibrosis Trustcharity raising awareness and funding for research into cystic fibrosis, as well as working to improve the care that people with the condition receive (0300 373 1000).

Cystic Fibrosis Supporters – charity working towards a cure for cystic fibrosis while supporting those living with the condition and raising awareness through sharing the stories of sufferers (07827 388041).

COPD Signposting

British Lung Foundation – charity dedicated to improving lung health in the UK through campaigning for cleaner air, researching treatment for lung conditions and providing advice and support for people living with lung conditions such as COPD (03000 030 555).

NARA The Breathing Charity – charity providing medical equipment, advice and support to all people living with apnoea and other breathing difficulties, including breathing problems caused by COPD. They have a community care programme which aims to improve care in the community for people with breathing problems, as well as various  fundraising appeals (01604 494960).

Breathing Matters – charity set up to raise funds for research into lung conditions carried out by University College London which also campaigns for cleaner air as a preventative measure against lung infections and other conditions.

Coronary heart disease Signposting

British Heart Foundation – charity which funds research into heart and circulatory diseases, as well as provides resources for people of all ages living with all types of heart condition, including information on risk factors for heart disease (0300 330 3311).

Heart Research UK – charity which provides information on prevention and treatment of heart conditions, including coronary heart disease, as well as investing in research into heart health and community groups (0113 234 7474).

Heart UK – charity dedicated to educating people about cholesterol and how high cholesterol can lead to heart disease. It also provides resources on diet for improving and maintaining heart health and information to health professionals caring for people with raised cholesterol (0345 450 5988).

Dementia Signposting

Dementia UK – charity committed to providing specialist dementia care through care provisions by trained nurses, support for families and carers and online advice (0800 888 6678).

Alzheimer’s Society – charity aiming to offer support to everyone newly diagnosed with dementia by 2022, face-to-face and online through specially trained dementia advisers, as well as raising awareness in the general public and empowering people diagnosed with the condition to have a say in their ongoing care (0333 150 3456).

Depression Signposting

Depression UK – organisation helping people cope with their depression, encouraging dialogue between people with depression and mutual support to aid loneliness that may be brought on by the condition.

PANDAS Foundation – charity supporting people with pre or post-natal depression through online support groups encouraging mutual support, helplines and resources (0808 1961 776).

Mind – mental health charity with resources and advice to support someone with depression and the impact this may have on their wellbeing (0300 123 3393).

Diabetes Signposting

Diabetes UKcharity working to prevent type 2 diabetes, campaigning for better treatment of all diabetes and funding research that aims to find an eventual cure for diabetes (0345 123 2399).

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundationcharity researching cures for type 1 diabetes, campaigning for improved treatment and giving a voice to people with type 1 diabetes, as well as supporting them to live with the condition (020 7713 2030).

Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation – organisation funding research into treatment, prevention and management of all diabetes, as well as providing support to people living with the condition (023 92 637808).

Disfigurement Signposting

Changing Faces charity providing advice, support and psychosocial services to anyone in the UK with a mark, scar or condition which makes their body appear different, and challenging the discrimination faced by people with visible differences (0300 012 0275).

Birthmark Support Group – charity providing support and information for anyone living with a birthmark, as well as raising awareness in schools and among medical professionals so that identification of complications and treatments is improved (07825 855 888).

The Katie Piper Foundation – charity dedicated to improving the lives of burns survivors through expanding the reach of rehabilitation services and supporting survivors in their mental and physical recovery (0300 365 0055).

Down’s syndrome Signposting

Down’s syndrome Research Foundation UK– charity which helps fund medical research, promote understanding of the condition and which advocates for the rights of people with Down’s syndrome (01892 71 1121).

Mencap – charity which works to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities (not specific to Down’s syndrome). They work on improving the public’s attitude towards people with learning disabilities, as well as the understanding of health professionals and employers (0808 808 1111).

Down’s syndrome Association – the only UK charity dealing with all aspects of the condition, delivering training and information on education and health and social care, as well as matching employers with jobseekers via the WorkFit programme (0333 1212 300).

Dyslexia Signposting 

British Dyslexia Association (BDA): information and services to support people with dyslexia. BDA provides training to professionals, dyslexia diagnostic assessments, and workplace needs assessments. They also provide a helpline service for people with dyslexia and those who support them (0333 405 4567). 

The Dyslexia Association: support and services for people with dyslexia and those who support them. Provides professional advice, dyslexia screening, diagnostic assessments, training and specialist tuition. 

Dyslexia Foundation: provides free dyslexia screenings and subsidised rates of assessment costs for people in work and education in the North West of England. Also provides a helpline number (0151 707 1525).

Dysmenorrhoea Signposting

Bloody Good Period  – charity working to combat period poverty and destigmatise periods in the UK by encouraging everyone to talk more about menstruation and access the information they need to understand theirs or a loved one’s biology better.

Pelvic Pain Support Network charity providing support and information regarding all types of pelvic pain, including dysmenorrhoea and other gynaecological conditions.

Women’s Health Concern organisation which is part of the British Menopause Society and provides information and support to women of all ages regarding their menstrual cycle and issues relating to it, such as period pain.

Dyspraxia Signposting

Dyspraxia UK – a charity providing assessments for children and adults and specialising in dyspraxia-specific occupational therapy, as well as training for teachers and employers on how to deal with pupils’ and employees’ dyspraxia (01223 967897).

Dyspraxia Foundation – a charity which spreads information about the condition, particularly to health and education professionals (01462 454986).

Movement Matters – an umbrella group bringing together the main national groups who advocate for people with dyspraxia. It raises awareness of the condition and provides guidance on its management to clinicians, families and teachers.

Eating disorders Signposting

Beat Eating Disorders – charity supporting people with all types of eating disorders and their families by providing information, forums for talking to specially trained volunteers about living with eating disorders and advice about seeking treatment (0808 801 0677).

Anorexia & Bulimia Care – charity helping people with anorexia and bulimia nervosa receive the correct nutritional advice and emotional support to help them in their recovery, as well as campaigning for increased awareness among the general public (03000 11 12 13).

Mindcharity working to empower people living with all types of mental health issues, to destigmatise mental health problems and to improve mental health care at a policy and practical level (0300 123 3393).

Endometriosis Signposting

Endometriosis UKcharity working to improve quality of life for people living with endometriosis, including improving access to quicker diagnoses and better care and treatment, as well as to raise awareness of the condition among the general public (0808 808 2227).

Pain UK charity working to change the perception of pain, including that experienced by people living with endometriosis, and to promote the idea that pain is an issue in its own right. It also provides services and support for people living with endometriosis.

Epilepsy Signposting

Epilepsy Action – charity working to improve access to epilepsy healthcare services and support to enable people to manage the condition as best as possible, as well as working to expand understanding of the condition among the public (0808 800 5050).

Epilepsy Society – charity promoting, research, education and awareness relating to epilepsy in the UK, as well as working to improve medical resources (01494 601 400).

Epilepsy Research UK – charity driving national research into epilepsy to improve diagnosis, treatment and prevention at health policy and practice level (020 3096 7887).

FGM Signposting

Daughters of Eve – charity advocating for equal treatment of women in FGM-practising communities and protecting these women’s mental, physical, sexual and reproductive health in conjunction with policy makers.

Halo Project – charity supporting victims of honour-based violence, forced marriage and FGM, as well as partner organisations who provide interventions and services to protect the people at risk from these practices (01642 683 045).

Women’s Aid – charity working to create and curate resources relating to domestic abuse more generally and to improve the response to people who require help to escape from, or recover from the effects of domestic abuse. The charity campaigns for greater awareness of domestic abuse and educates people on how to identify the signs of an abuse victim, etc.

Fibromyalgia Signposting

Fibromyalgia Action UK – a charity signposting information and resources to help people live with their fibromyalgia. It also runs a support forum, provides guidance on fundraising and educates medical professionals on the condition (0300 999 3333).

Versus Arthritis – charity campaigning for better policies to protect people with arthritis and fibromyalgia and to provide them with better healthcare, as well as campaigning to counter common misconceptions about the conditions (0300 790 0400).

UK Fibromyalgia – organisation making sure that people in the UK living with fibromyalgia have access to correct diagnoses, effective treatments and protection against medical and workplace discrimination.

Financial Wellbeing Signposting

The Wellbeing Project – organisation providing wellbeing and resilience resources for employers and employees through workshops, webinars and courses and helping to cultivate wellness in the workplace (0800 0856899).

Mercer – organisation which provides free resources on money saving and planning, podcasts on financial matters and links to other sites with useful information on financial wellbeing, with a view to helping employers help their employees with financial wellbeing.

Money & Pensions Service – an arm’s-length body sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions, working to provide people in the UK with financial guidance, including information on the UK’s latest Strategy for Financial Wellbeing.

Forced marriage Signposting

Women’s Aid – charity working to create and curate resources relating to domestic abuse, including forced marriage and to improve the response to people who require help to escape from, or recover from the effects of forced marriage. The charity campaigns for greater awareness of forced marriage and educates people on how to identify the signs of a forced marriage victim, etc.

Refuge – charity providing services to allow survivors to get the help they need and begin to live a normal life after escaping abuse. This includes temporary accommodation, advocacy as well as cultural and gender-specific services tailored to helping survivors who have experienced abuse specific to their demographic (0808 2000 247).

Halo Project – charity supporting victims of honour-based violence, forced marriage and FGM, as well as partner organisations who provide interventions and services to protect the people at risk from these practices (01642 683 045).

Gambling addiction Signposting

Action on Addiction – charity providing advice, treatment and family support to those affected by all types of addiction, as well as conducting research into treatment and improving the provision of services in the UK (0300 330 0659).

GamCare – charity providing advice, support and information for people affected by problem gambling, including questionnaires to help someone determine whether their gambling could be classed as a problem. (0808 8020 133).

Gamblers Anonymous – organisation empowering people with a gambling addiction to share their experiences and help themselves and others by doing this through online forums, group video meetings and online resources (0330 094 0322).

Gout Signposting  

UK Gout Society  – charity providing information to people living with gout and increasing public awareness of the potential severity of the condition, with expertise from rheumatologists and other health professionals informing the support the charity gives.

Arthritis Action – charity giving practical advice to people living with all types of arthritis, including gout (an inflammatory arthritis), and focusing on encouraging people to self-manage their condition through dietary and lifestyle changes (020 3781 7120).

Grief and bereavement Signposting

https://www.cruse.org.uk – charity providing support for people of all ages who are experiencing bereavement, online, on the phone and in person. Training for employers on how to deal with bereavement at work is also available (0808 808 1677).

The Good Grief Trust – organisation signposting grief and bereavement resources for people of all ages, run by people with personal experience of bereavement who can offered practical and emotional support. They have links to different types of helpline depending on the nature of the bereavement.

Mind – mental health charity with resources and information on bereavement to help people manage their grief and bereavement and the effect it has on their wellbeing (0300 123 3393).

Hearing impairments Signposting

Action on Hearing Losscharity providing information and support for people with hearing loss, as well as funding for research and campaigning to move closer to equality for people with hearing impairments (0808 808 0123).

Hearing Link charity helping people with hearing loss confront and overcome practical challenges, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic. They offer drop-in advice services, blogs and online forums, as well as a helpline accessible via an online enquiry form.

British Deaf Association – membership organisation for deaf people offering services which help to empower deaf people in the UK and encourage them to live life to the fullest. This includes campaigning for public services to become more sign language-inclusive and aware (07795 410724).

HIV/AIDS Signposting

National AIDS Trustcharity campaigning for change in attitudes to HIV/AIDS and advocating for the rights of people living with the condition (020 7814 6767).

Terence Higgins Trustthe UK’s largest sexual health and HIV charity, working towards an end to HIV and providing support for people living with the condition, particularly involving reducing the stigma surrounding the condition (0808 802 1221).

Irritable Bowel Syndrome Signposting

Guts UKcharity campaigning to increase the volume of medical research into digestive conditions, such as IBS, as well as public awareness and support for those living with digestive conditions (020 7486 0341).

IBS Network – charity providing information and advice on managing IBS, working alongside healthcare professionals to advise on self-management of the condition.(Helpline available to network members).

Joint hypermobility Signposting  

Ehlers-Danlos Support UK – organisation offering support to people with EDS, including physical and virtual support groups, as well as working to improve the medical care people with the condition receive, and awareness of the condition among the general public (0800 907 8518).

Hypermobility Syndromes Association – organisation supporting people with different types of hypermobility, as well as the medical professionals who treat them. This is done through support groups and by improving research into hypermobility (033 3011 6388).

Lupus Signposting

Lupus UK  – UK-wide charity which provides information to people approaching diagnoses of lupus, as well as people already diagnosed. The charity gives awareness talks and fundraises for research into the condition (01708 731251).

Lupus Trust charity set up to fund research into lupus while collaborating with a range of medical professionals to support people living with the condition. Their online community and resources provide support for people with lupus too.

Lyme disease Signposting

Lyme disease UK charity founded by people with Lyme disease to help raise awareness of the condition among the public and among health professionals and legislators. The charity has a dedicated Facebook group which allows people with Lyme disease to provide mutual support and advice.

Lyme Disease Actionorganisation working with Public Health England and various medical journals to combat misinformation on the subject of Lyme disease and to raise awareness of symptoms and how they differ from Covid-19

M.E./Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Signposting

M.E. Research charity that commissions and funds biomedical research into the causes, consequences and treatments of M.E., as well as provides information for a wide audience on all aspects of the condition (01738 451234).

M.E. Association – charity providing information, support and advice for people affected by M.E. It also works with parliamentary committees and health authorities to help shape policy which can improve the lives of people with the condition (03445765326).

Action for M.E. – charity leading the world’s largest programme for genetic research into M.E. and advocating for people with the condition (0117 927 9551).

Migraine Signposting

Migraine Trustthe UK’s largest research and support charity for migraines campaigning for better understanding among health professionals and providing a community in which people with migraines can support each other (0203 9510 150).

National Migraine Centre – organisation offering treatment and support for migraines without the requirement of a GP referral (020 7251 3322/ 020 7251 7800).

The Brain Charity – non-migraine-specific charity offering help and emotional support to anyone with a neurological condition, including migraines, with a focus on tackling stigma attached to the conditions in question (0151 298 2999).

Mobility impairment Signposting

SCOPE charity working towards disability equality through provision of information and emotional support for those affected by a disability, including physical and mobility impairments. Not mobility impairment-specific, however much of the work focuses on informing of mobility-related disabilities in different stages of life and how society can best cater for people with these additional needs (0808 800 3333).

Mobility Trust – charity providing powered wheelchairs and scooters for people in need struggling to obtain mobility aids through other means, regardless of the nature of their impairment. Funding also provides specialist occupational therapy to people accessing mobility aids through the Trust (0118 9842588).

Modern slavery Signposting

Unseen UK – charity which provides a safe houses for survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking , both men and women. This is part of the charity’s three-pronged approach to working towards a world free of slavery: supporting victims, equipping them and influencing those with legislative and other powers (08000 121 700).

Hope for Justice – charity working in the UK and elsewhere to end modern slavery through preventing exploitation before it has a chance to occur. The charity also provides resources and support to those who have been enslaved so that they can rebuild their lives (0300 008 8000).

Anti-Slavery International (UK)charity lobbying for legislation to combat slavery and to protect those who find themselves enslaved, as well as raising awareness at a local level among the public and authorities (020 7737 9434).

British Nutrition Foundation – organisation aiming to give everyone easy access to sustainable, healthy diets and implementing the latest research in the field of nutritional science in communication campaigns and resources for the general public and health professionals (020 7557 7930).

The Food Foundation – charity focusing on reforming policy and business practice to ensure access for everyone in the UK to a healthy and balanced diet, in particular during the current Covid-19 pandemic which has impacted many people’s food security (020 3086 9953).

Food for the Brain – charity raising awareness among individuals and organisations of the importance of good nutrition for mental health and brain function and encouraging the integration of nutrition advice and support into treatment for mental health conditions (020 3978 5336),

Obesity Signposting

Obesity UK charity and membership organisation aiming to reduce the stigma surrounding obesity and represent people living with obesity, as well to improve obesity-related education and the advice and treatment accessible to people living with the condition.

Helping Overcome Obesity Problems (HOOP) – organisation working to improve the prevention and treatment of obesity at a healthcare level, as well as to provide people living with obesity the non-judgmental support they need to improve their lives (0303 300 03 14).

British Obesity Society – organisation aiming to inspire people of all ages to implement positive behaviours to get and stay healthy while providing advice and support for people living with obesity in the UK.

The Cure Parkinson’s Trust – charity working to find disease-modifying treatments for Parkinson’s on the way to finding a cure, as well as to promote emerging therapies among clinicians (020 7487 3892).

Parkinson’s Care and Support UK – charity working to improve the lives of people living with Parkinson’s while also investing in non-pharmaceutical research which is looking for ways to slow down the progression – and even cure – the disease (020 3380 2573).

Scoliosis Signposting

Scoliosis Association UK – organisation providing support, advice and information for people with scoliosis, and raising awareness of the condition among the general public and healthcare professionals. The charity focuses on tackling pain and poor body image in people with the condition, specifically (020 8964 1166).

Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliancean umbrella organisation uniting patient and professional groups to provide the best care for people with existing conditions, as well as to raise awareness about the conditions (including scoliosis) in the general public (0203 856 1978).

MSK Knowledge Hub – a partnership between the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance and NHS England to bring information to people about MSK conditions, including scoliosis. It is a database of searchable articles to inform the support of people with MSK conditions, as well as the people themselves.

Shoulder, arm or hand impairments Signposting

Limbless Association organisation supporting amputees pre and post-amputation by providing advice and guidance to help in recovery and rehabilitation, including legal advice and advocacy (0800 644 0185).

Spinal Research – charity helping those living with paralysis as a result of spinal injury and funding worldwide research into treatments for paralysis (020 7653 8935).

https://blesma.org – charity campaigning for the better treatment and care of limbless veterans in the UK and helping veterans with limb amputations live full lives (020 8590 1124). 

Sickle cell disease Signposting

Sickle Cell Society – charity working to raise awareness of the condition alongside healthcare professionals, people with the condition and their loved ones, so that people with sickle cell can achieve their potential. Funding goes into medical research and educational programmes (020 8963 7794).

Anthony Nolan – charity supporting people with, and research into, blood cancers and other blood conditions such as sickle cell disease, as well as matching blood stem cell donors with people in need of transplants (0303 303 0303).

Suicidal thoughts signposting

Mind – a mental health charity that provides drop-in centres for mental health and information and resources on suicide and suicidal thoughts.

Sleep Disorders Signposting

Sleep Councilorganisation working to help people prevent sleeping difficulties through educating them and providing relevant health services, and advocating for better sleep quality among the general population.

The Sleep Charity – charity providing physical and mental wellbeing advice to aid better sleeping, ensuring that a good night’s sleep is accessible to all people in the UK, including parents and their children and employers and their employees (01302 751 416).

The Brain Charity – a charity working to improve the lives of people living with neurological conditions, including sleeping difficulties, with advice and resources on a variety of sleeping disorders (0151 298 2999).

Smoking cessation Signposting

Action on Smoking and Health – public health charity working to eliminate the damage caused by smoking in the UK by raising awareness, disseminating information on the dangers of smoking and campaigning for improved policy (020 7404 0242).

Action on Addiction – charity providing advice, treatment and family support to those affected by all types of addiction, as well as conducting research into treatment and improving the provision of services in the UK (0300 330 0659).

http://www.quit.org.uk – charity working to reduce suffering as a result of smoking and to move towards a smoke-free UK in the future, offering helplines and community groups in 8 languages and expertise to health professionals and employers (0800 00 22 00).

Speech impairments Signposting

Stamma charity supporting people with stammers and other speech difficulties live their lives with dignity by campaigning against discrimination and tackle stigma and ignorance towards people with speech impairments (0808 802 0002).

Speak with IT charity supporting people with speech difficulties following a stroke or other illness, particularly through the means of technology, to enable people with acquired speech impairments to regain confidence.

The Sequal Trust – charity providing assistive technology for people with communication difficulties, including speech impairments (01691 624 222).

STD Signposting

Terence Higgins Trustthe UK’s largest sexual health charity, providing information on sexual health and STDs, guidance on where to seek treatment or find a test and raising awareness for better sexual health among the UK population (0808 802 1221).

British Association for Sexual Health and HIV organisation promoting awareness of STDs, as well as training and research in the field of sexual health. They also work to ensure that government provisions of sexual health care are adequate to cater to the population’s needs (01625 664523).

Thyroid condition Signposting

The British Thyroid Foundation charity working alongside medical professionals to provide evidence-based advice to help people in the UK live with thyroid disorders. Social media groups and local groups led by volunteers also help support people with the conditions (01423 810093).

The British Thyroid Association charity dedicated to furthering research into the thyroid and to improving patient care for people with a thyroid condition. Patient information is informed by accredited medical professionals who specialise in the thyroid.

Thyroid UKcharity supporting people with thyroid conditions through their diagnosis and treatment by providing advice and resources and advocating for clinical care tailored to the individual.

Tourette’s syndrome Signposting

Tourette’s Action charity working to increase the social acceptance of people with Tourette’s in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as to improve the provision of practical support for people with the condition.

The Brain Charity – a non-Tourette’s-specific charity working to improve research into neurological conditions, including Tourette’s, as well as to provide support and advice for people with the condition (0151 298 2999).

Visual impairments Signposting

Royal National Institute of Blind People – the UK’s largest community of blind and partially sighted people and providers of practical and emotional support, reading services and change campaigns, particularly to make the world a place where people with visual impairments face no barriers (0303 123 9999).

Partially Sighted Society – organisation providing information, advice, training and reading aids for people with visual impairments, as well as vision assessments and adapted stationery, watches and other day-to-day equipment (01302 965195).

Macular Society – charity looking for a cure to macular disease and committed to funding research, and support for those living with this type of visual impairment (0300 3030 111).

The Wellbeing Project – organisation providing wellbeing and resilience resources for employers and employees through workshops, webinars and courses and helping to cultivate wellness in the workplace (0800 0856899).
